A brew pub is opening in Doylestown Borough.

The Doylestown Brewing Company has announced it will open a brew pub and tasting room in the Main Street Marketplace, 22 S. Main St.

It will be partner with the Pa Soup and Seafood House to offer both food and drinks under the same roof. Brewing tanks will be visible from the restaurant, explained owner Joe Modestine.

Additionally, the brewing company plans to open a tasting room in the lower level of the Marketplace. Food, like appetizers and small plates, will be available downstairs and will be prepared by Soup and Seafood chefs.

The goal is to open this fall, Modestine said.

But that’s just the beginning. Modestine said the brewery plans to expand in the Marketplace as more space becomes available. “Ultimately where we start is the initial steps into a much larger brewery,” he said.

Modestine said the goal is to start with eight taps. “As we expand upstairs, we are going to grow that to 12,” he hopes.

Modestine said he’s been waiting three years for the right spot in Doylestown. Brewing tanks require space and high ceilings and there hasn’t been much available in the downtown area to meet his needs, he explained.

The Doylestown Brewing Company has been around since 2011 and currently distributes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
