First Friday in Doylestown

What: Meander downtown for merchant sponsored fun and specials on the first Friday of the month, including Free First Friday Fun at Busy Bee Toys, Wine & Chocolate Tasting at Nuts Plus, a First Friday free show at School of Rock Doylestown.

Where/when: shops and businesses in downtown Doylestown, Friday evening

Family Saturday Matinee: A Town Called Panic (2009)

What: Animated plastic toys like Cowboy, Indian and Horse have problems, too. Cowboy and Indian’s plan to surprise Horse with a homemade birthday gift backfires when they destroy his house instead.

Where/when: Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the County Theater

Brewery Anniversary - Special Tasting

What: As a thank you to customers during their 1-year anniversary celebration, Free Will Brewing will offer tastings of their Black Friday and Ralphius brews.

Where/when: Free Will Brewery, 410 E. Walnut St., Perkasie, Saturday, Feb. 2, 12 p.m.

Bucks County Genealogical Society Meeting and Presentation

What: Collecting data on ancestors is fun and exciting but organizing that data can become a daunting task. Carol Scheaffer and Nancy Nelson from the Genealogical Society of PA will present this discussion on Organizing Research Data.

Where/when: Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.

CHOP Chari-tea

What: 4th Annual Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Chari-tea

When/where: Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Newtown Presbyterian Church

What: Artists of Yardley photography and skilled crafts show

When/where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. at the AOY Art Center on Patterson Farm, 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley

Medieval Festival

What: Experience life in the Middle Ages, complete with demonstrations of glass painting, a Gutenberg-style printing press, sword fighting and a 30-minute reenactment of a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, a popular pilgrimage site in Medieval Europe.

When/where: 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3 at Glencairn Museum, 1001 Cathedral Rd. Bryn Athyn, Pa. 19009

Cost: Adults, $8; students & seniors, $6; children under four and museum members, free. $20 for family of four.
