Town and Country Players Seek Support for Kickstarter Campaign

The volunteer nonprofit theater, located in a 267-year-old barn on York Road in Buckingham, is raising money through the online fundraising site to help with its renovation project.

It’s all or nothing for the Town and Country Players' Kickstarter fundraising campaign.

The volunteer nonprofit theater, located in a 267-year-old barn on York Road in Buckingham, is raising money through the online fundraising site to help with its renovation project.

Their goal is to raise $3,000 by May 12. As of April 30, they have raised $2,080. If they don’t meet their goal by the deadline, they won’t get the pledged funds. Click here to visit the theater's Kickstarter campaign.

Renovations to the theater include an addition that is 24-foot by 24-foot footprint, plus new women's, men’s and handicapped-access restrooms on the first floor, a meeting and rehearsal room on the second floor and storage on the third floor.

Over the years, the playhouse has completed a variety of improvements to the historic barn. According to the Town and Country Players website, an air-conditioning system was installed in 1994. In 2006, dilapidated seats were removed and replaced with "Kimmel Center styled" red leather seats.

In recent years, the playhouse has added new lights, carpet, backstage monitors and insulation of the theater and sound booth, among other improvements, according to the website.
