"Magic Tree House" Coming to Doylestown

Meet Jack and Annie, the stars of the children's book series, at Lenape Middle School on Sunday.

Every parent who has spent hours reading the beloved Magic Tree House book series to their children will recognize that signature move.

In the beginning reader chapter book series, a magic wind spins a magic tree house faster and faster, twirling Jack and Annie from their home in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, back in time to historical adventures.

The brother and sister duo have faced off with dinosaurs, sailed with the Vikings, and even found themselves near a battlefield during the Civil War.

And today, that spirit of adventure is coming to Doylestown.

The and the nonprofit community group are teaming up to host "Passport to Adventure! A Magic Tree House Live Reading Tour."

Sponsored by Random House Children’s Books, the national tour is bringing Jack and Annie, the lead characters from Mary Pope Osborne’s beloved Magic Tree House series, to meet their fans in person. Besides Doylestown, the tour will head to more than 20 other cities in the United States and Canada.

Held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at , 313 W. State St., the event will feature live performances and songs based on the bestselling book series.

Tickets for one child and one adult are free with the purchase from the Doylestown Bookshop of the latest Magic Tree House book, A Crazy Day with Cobras. To buy tickets online, click here.

Additional children or adults may be added to each ticket with the purchase of a paperback Magic Tree House book.

Part of the proceeds from ticket and book sales will benefit CB Cares, which runs programs and services designed to strengthen the community.
