State Street Players of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

The State Street Players of Our Lady of Mount Carmel promise to provide flashbacks and fun in their “34th Annual Assault Upon the Performing Arts” opening Friday, March 2nd.

Performances are at 8 p.m. March 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17, 2012.

This year’s show—titled “My Time Machine is on the Fritz---Can I Borrow Yours?"—takes audience members on frolicking romp through time, to some of their favorite music and memories. Songs, skits, and silliness will abound in this year's production!

The State Street Players is made up of more than 100 residents who write, produce and perform the annual show, as well as build their own sets and construct the stage itself in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School auditorium.

The cabaret review intersperses song-and-dance routines with comedy skits, heavy on physical and satirical humor. The group will spend a total of nine months in production, from initial writing in June until the show opens in March.

The State Street Players organization is supported by and under the mentorship of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.  In a continuation of our purpose, each year our organization awards scholarships in the field of performing arts to outstanding students in Our Lady of Mount Carmel's elementary school, and to two students in their senior year in community high schools.

Tables of 10 or individual seats are available for a non-refundable donation of $17.50 per ticket. Soda, setups, beer, wine and liquor are available for sale at the bar.

The State Street Players’ show takes place in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School auditorium at 225 E. Ashland St. in Doylestown.
