Opera Project Concert and Art Benefit

The Opera Project Concert (Arias & Duets) and Art Benefit Saturday on September 15 at the historic Prallsville Mills at 33 Risler St., Stockton, NJ 08559.

An artists’ reception will be open to the public from 2 to 7pm. After 7pm the show will only be open to ticket holders for the 8 to 10pm concert of delightful arias and duets. Individuals purchasing original paintings will receive two complimentary passes to the performance and tickets may be purchased at the door for $15. Artworks by Deborah Maher, Scott MacNeill and Mike Mann will be on display. A portion of the art sales will benefit the nonprofit Opera Project.

The 30 paintings that will be displayed for sale represent three artists whose works present quite different visions but demonstrate a shared love for color and design. Deborah Maher, who is also a professional singer and voice teacher, creates art that is quite lyrical and generally includes beautiful female figures along with cats. She will also perform in the evening concert. Scott MacNeill is a nationally know illustrator, whose vibrant gouache paintings are done in various styles. Mike is a plein air painter who will present scenes done both locally and abroad in a style he calls “realistic impressionism”.

The Opera Project is a classical singers’ forum that supports singers in the community by offering performance opportunities for professionals, students, and emerging artists alike. A charitable non-profit organization, their concerts have benefited benevolent organizations, including the Briteside Adult Day Center and Doctors Without Borders.
