MM2 Modern Dance - CONVERSATIONS

MM2 Modern Dance Company will present a preview of its newest work, Conversations, a dialog in movement, at the James A. Michener Art Museum Thursday, July 19, 7 pm. Tickets are free with paid admission to the museum.

The performance, like a conversation, is interactive, spontaneous, personal and intimate. "Dance allows us to express who we are within the context of movement, and thus is the simplest form of communication," says MM2 Artistic Director Steven Weisz. "It is a conversation between body, breath and beat. Such conversations are at our very core."

"With this new work, MM2 company members, dancers and choreographers have created their own dialogue that reflects the ebb and flow of our daily lives," says Michener Director of Programs Zoriana Siokalo.

This preview of Conversations is being offered after a successful tour in Canada under a grant from the WHW Foundation. The final production of Conversations will premiere at the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe in September.

MM2 Modern Dance Company, under the direction of Steven Weisz, has established itself as an incubator, providing support, space and opportunities for new emerging dance artists who wish to explore the choreographic process, and to cultivate and introduce new work to new audiences.
