Doylestown’s newest art gallery showcases paintings by 93-year-old artist Si Lewen. “Off the beaten path,” the gallery features his unique art, beyond any consistent media, subject, form or style, as well as any preconceived idea or agenda. Lewen’s work has been compared by some art critics to Picasso and Goya, and lauded by Albert Einstein (“The world needs you and your work…”). His most recent regional exhibit was at the James A. Michener Art Museum in 2011. The Kardon Gallery is a branch of the Si Lewen Museum at the IIRP, Bethlehem, PA. Hrs: Wed.-Sat., 10am-6pm; Sun., noon-6pm; and by appointment. Gallery director: Nina Kardon.
