Doylestown Cemetery is offering guided walking tours every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. beginning June 30, 2012.
Visitors will be introduced to some of Bucks County's more prominent citizens who are buried in the cemetery, highlighting their contributions to business, industry, public service and Bucks County history, while enjoying the lush Victorian garden cemetery at it's seasonal finest.
Over 200 Civil War veterans reside in the cemetery including infantrymen, cavalrymen, sailors, surgeons, Generals, and members of the US Colored Troops. Victorian burial customs, cemetery architecture, and interpretive tombstone studies will be also be featured. Tours will start at the cemetery office, 215 E. Court St. Doylestown, PA 18901 - at the corner of E. Court and Spruce Sts. at 10:00 and will take approximately 2 hours.
