CB West Players at Hammerstein House

Doylestown's Highland Farm is the former home of Oscar Hammerstein II, lyricist of great American musicals like Oklahoma! and The Sound of Music.

The CB-West High School Harlequin Club was excited to learn that this piece of theatre history is located in Doylestown, and it has planned a community event in conjunction with their spring musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!

Inspired by the beauty of Bucks County, Oscar Hammerstein II wrote the opening classic song for Oklahoma!, “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” on the front porch of Highland Farm.
Community members are invited to enjoy:

·         presentations on theatrical and local history by Tim Adamsky, local historian and other local historians
·         a preview of CB-West’s Oklahoma! with live music
·         tours of the beautiful historic home Highland Farm

This event will take place Friday, March  23rd from 4:30 to 8 pm. It will be an open house format.  There is no charge for admission; donations to the CB-West Harlequin Club and the Historical Society would be appreciated.
