Bucks County is Putting On The Dog For "A Concert in the Bark" Featuring Recording Artist Gina Sicilia & Benefiting A Local Animal Rescue

Focus on Homeless Animals (FOHA), a 501c3 animal rescue organization based in Washington Crossing, PA, will host a “Concert in the Bark” on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at Middletown Grange Fairgrounds, located at 576 Penns Park Road, in Wrightstown, PA. Gina Sicilia, a Newtown, PA recording artist known both locally and nationally, will be on hand with her band to entertain with her sultry blues sound.  Sicilia, who began singing at the age of 10, held one of her first performances at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds.  Her CD’s will be available at the concert for purchase.

The event will also feature vendors, pet contests (prizes will be awarded), pet adoptions, raffles, and a pet talent show (prizes will be awarded). The first 20 people to register will receive a musical note dog bandana.   Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the event. To purchase tickets go to https://focusonhomelessanimals.org/ and click on the “Click Here to Get Tickets” button.

FOHA not only rescues stray pets, but takes in abandoned and unwanted pets (that have limited time to be rescued) from open admission shelters, as well as owner surrendered pets within the community. The organization has launched a fundraising campaign to build The Bucks County Animal Refuge, a no-kill facility that will serve as a transition house for homeless animals that need to be “re-homed.”  “Having an actual building to operate from will allow FOHA to continue all of its good work under one roof,” says Gloria Aceti, founder of the organization. “This work includes routine or emergency medical care, spay and neutering, grooming, training, exercise, micro chipping, and whatever else is needed to prepare the animals for adoption.”

Focus on Homeless Animals (FOHA), established by Gloria Aceti in New Jersey in 1999, is a 501(c)3 not for profit animal rescue organization now located in Washington Crossing PA. FOHA is made up of dedicated volunteers that partner with local open admission shelters in the Philadelphia area to find homes for unwanted animals. FOHA takes animals from open admission shelters and works to place them in loving homes so that no healthy dog or cat is euthanized. Focus on Homeless Animals also accepts owner surrendered pets and provides services such as spay/neuter; routine medical care; emergency medical care; microchip; behavior evaluations and assessments; behavioral interventions, grooming, socializing, and exercising. The organization is working to raise funds to build the Bucks County Animal Refuge, a facility designed to provide all of the services FOHA currently offers, but in one location.
