Earth Day Hike, Central Park Cleanup and Concert This Weekend

DOYLESTOWN RESTAURANT WEEK

Where/when: More than 25 restaurants throughout the borough, Fri.-Sun. during operating hours.

What: Diners have a chance to sample the variety of Central Bucks County in the hands of its best chefs. Doylestown is home to many world-class artisanal producers, craft brewers, abundant farms, orchards, and vineyards, as well as some of the area’s most inspired chefs.

PINEWOOD DERBY DISPLAY CONTEST

Where/when: Keenan Honda, 854 N. Easton Rd., Doylestown. Contest runs through April 30.

What: All area Cub Scouts are invited to bring their 2013 Derby Car for public display in Keenan Honda's showroom. All visitors to the dealership will be able to vote on their favorite car, with the winning car to be crowned the "2013 Keenan Honda Pinewood Derby People's Champion" and earn four Phillies tickets to a home game.

Cost: Free

SCHOOL OF ROCK SCREENING AND LIVE DEMO

Where/when: County Theater, 20 E. State St., Doylestown, Sat. at 10:30 a.m.

What: Watch the comedy favorite starring Jack Black, then enjoy a live performance from students of the Doylestown School of Rock.

Cost: Free for County Theater members, $4 general public.

EARTH DAY 2013 CLEAN UP AND BENEFIT CONCERT FOR KIDS CASTLE

Where/when: Central Park, 425 Wells Rd., Doylestown. Cleanup: Sat. 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Concert: 3 p.m.-7 p.m.

What: The Chalfont New Britain Business Alliance is sponsoring an Earth Day Clean-Up followed by a benefit concert for Kids Castle. The concert will feature the Mango Men Band, as well as a vendor fair and kids' games to enjoy.

Cost: Free

EARTH DAY HIKE

Where/when: Peace Valley Nature Center, 170 N. Chapman Rd., Doylestown. Sun. at 2 p.m.

What: Discover what is going on around Peace Valley Nature Center as you hike the trails and enjoy some amazing discoveries. Minimum number of participants required.

Cost: Free

AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR GET-TOGETHER

Where/when: Booktenders' Secret Garden, 42 E. State St., Doylestown. Sun. from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

What: Join authors Susan Bartoletti, Lee Harper, Steve (S.D.) Schindler,and Nancy Viau for a Q&A about their books, their writing process and how they started followed by a signing. Light refreshments will be served. Due to time restrictions, our guests will only sign books brought from Booktenders' Secret Garden.

Cost: Free to attend.
