Santa Paws Returning to Doylestown

Get your pooch's portrait with Santa taken at Life on the Leash.

Santa Claus may be coming to Doylestown on Friday, but Santa Paws will be arriving on Dec. 1.

The big man in red will return to Life on the Leash on Saturday, Dec. 1 for portrait sessions with dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Hosted by the Friends of the Doylestown Dog Park, the event is a fundraiser for the newly opened park on Almshouse Road in Doylestown Township.

The event gives pet owners the chance to have their dog‘s holiday pictures taken in a comfortable, pet-friendly and safe environment, organizers said.

Last year's event brought out dozens of Doylestown dogs, including Murphy (Heather Walton), Baxter (Jeff Lugar) and more.

Photo sessions this year will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the boutique at 42 East State St. Photo backdrops include Santa and a Christmas tree or a snowman and snowflake-themed Winter Wonderland.

Volunteers also will be raffling gift baskets donated by local businesses.

Doylestown Animal Medical Clinic is underwriting the event so 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the dog park.

Reservations can be made by calling Victoria Schade at 267-247-5567, although walk-ins to Life on the Leash are welcome. Humans are also welcome to have their picture taken at either location.

Dogs must be on a short leash (no flexi leashes), up-to-date on all vaccinations and well behaved/not aggressive around people and other dogs.
