High Winds Causing Power Outages

About 9,000 PECO customers in Bucks and Montgomery counties were without power as of 9 a.m. Friday.

About 9,000 PECO customers in Bucks and Montgomery counties were without power as of 9 a.m. Friday, thanks to wind gusts up to 45 mph.

PECO's website reported 1,177 Bucks customers without power and 7,849 Montgomery customers without power.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 2 p.m. And a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 a.m. Friday.

But even with the winds, it certainly feels more like September than Nov. 1. In fact, temperatures are forecast to reach the lower 70s later Friday.

Temperatures will dip a bit Friday night into the upper 40s. But the winds will be lighter at 5 to 10 mph.

The relatively warm weather is expected to continue Saturday, with highs in the mid 60s. The weather service is calling for a chance of sprinkles in the afternoon and evening.

Then the colder air will arrive Saturday night, with low in the upper 30s and stronger winds from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

It will be partly sunny and breezy Sunday with highs in the upper 40s.

A little more of a sting is expected to the north in the Lehigh Valley, where snow flurries are possible Sunday morning. Bucks-Montco temperatures will fall into the upper 20s Sunday night and are expected to return to the upper 40s Monday, with nighttime lows in the lower 30s.
