Free hot dogs, a 5K, and the Memorial Day Parade in Doylestown this weekend.

If you aren’t headed to the Jersey Shore to start off the summer, there are lots of things to do this weekend aside from pool parties and backyard BBQ’s. We've gathered some of our favorites here to keep you busy and local this Memorial Day weekend. Kick off the weekend with a yardsale, dabble in some history and finish off with Memorial Day services to celebrate and remember our troops.

MULTI-FAMILY YARD SALE 

Find out what's happening in Doylestownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: S. Franklin St & Mary St, Doylestown, Saturday May 28th from 8am-2pm. 

Why Go: Everything from women’s clothing, furniture and toys to camping and fishing equipment and household items. We call dibs on the listed chandelier.

Pricing: Free to browse.

DOYLESTOWN 5K 

Where/When: Saturday May 28th. 1-mile Fun Run starts at 9 a.m and 5K at 9:30. Awards ceremony is at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: You can still register until Friday May 27th. Or just come to hang out in the sun and cheer everyone on.

CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT 

Where/When: Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm - 5 pm.  

Why Go: Mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and join the ranks of new recruits to the Union Army. Watch medical demonstrations, converse with locals, engineers and much more.  

Pricing: Free with museum admission.

 

DOYLESTOWN MEMORIAL DAY PARADE 

Where/When: Monday May 30th at 10am. 

Why Go: Come early to stake a good spot to celebrate our vets. The annual Doylestown Memorial Day Parade has all the parade goodness you need, from marching bands to candy for the kids.

The parade starts at CB West and from there heads east on W. Court Street, east on W. State Street, north on North Main Street to the Doylestown Cemetery for a service.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Monday, May 30th during the parade

Why Go: Free. Hot. Dogs. Free. Hot. Dogs.
