Doylestown Memorial Day Parade 2011

The borough's is the oldest Memorial Day parade in the country.

Despite sweltering temperatures and an ominious downpour shortly before staging, Doylestown celebrated its 145th Memorial Day parade on Monday.

The parade began at CB West High School at 10am and the route wound through downtown before ending at the Doylestown Cemetary on East Court Street at 11:30am.

Among the many participants in the parade, high school marching bands performed and boy scouts marched alongside veterans, much as they did in 1935. See Ed Levenson's article highlighting those events from the .
