Central Bucks Bicycle Club Awards Grants

The club has donated over $7,500 to local projects that further bicycling.

The Central Bucks Bicycle Club has selected recipients for their Spring 2012 Grant Program. This round of grants total $7,800; they've doled out over $100,000 over the past twelve years.

This group of beneficiaries includes the following:

  • Bicycle Access Council — $650 to help maintain the non-profit’s operations in support of state-wide bicycle advocacy.
  • Gearing Up — $2,500 to support a “Earn a Bike” classes for women who are in transition from troubled circumstances. Participants earn a bike for transportation and fitness.
  • Neighborhood Bike Works — $2,200 to help fund “Earn a Bike” classes for underprivileged youth.
  • Wycombe Train Station — $500 to help purchase a bench for this location, which is a popular ride start location for area bike clubs and groups.
  • Cadence Cycling Foundation — $1,700 to help the organization hire two new coaches for its competitive cycling program that serves disadvantaged youth.
  • Hunterdon County Land Trust — $250 in matching funds (based on CBBC member contributions) to further the organization’s open-space preservation mission.
