Delaware Valley, PA (March 9, 2013) – Jim Falk, Estimator of Nolan Painting, served as President of the Delaware Valley Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) Chapter for the past two years. Before his tenure ended, he promised to lead the chapter in a charity-painting project. Giving back to the community is important for Jim both personally and professionally. “The value in giving back is two-fold,” explains Jim, “you feel good giving to those in need and it also promotes your business.”

Jim is determined to demonstrate to his fellow DelVal PDCA members how important it is for local associations and businesses to give back to the community. Craig Hamlin from Colagio the Painter in Bucks County and fellow PDCA member has been assisting Jim in setting up this project. With paintbrushes and drop clothes in hand, Jim and his fellow PDCA members will be painting the interior space of the NOVA (Network of Victims Assistance in Jamison, PA) building on March 9th. Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore will be donating the paint and sundries.

NOVA is an organization dedicated to helping and counseling victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes. The DelVal PDCA chapter chose to help this organization because of its strong education in working to prevent and eliminate violence in society.

“PDCA’s key focus is on education,” says Jim. “It is truly committed to helping painters and contractors achieve success through its educational workshops and training.” And Jim has served the chapter well. He has led the chapter with strong leadership by providing solid education of his painting business acumen. Jim explains that donating time and labor to a local organization in need shows the community that we support them. “It also is a time to get to know our fellow members, team build and promote the good name of the PDCA,” adds Jim.

PDCA is a trade association dedicated to the success of painting and decorating contractors. There are roughly 2,000 members who are contractors in America and Canada. PDCA is recognized and supported by many industry manufacturers and suppliers as the premier organization committed to helping painting and decorating contractors improve their business through education, training, advocacy and best practices. The association has industry standards and a code of ethics that its members have to adhere to. When someone has PDCA accreditations then the customer is dealing with a higher-level contractor.
