The Thompson Organization Donates over 200 Coats to Local Children in Need

The Thompson Organization delivered more than 200 new winter coats to Tabor Children’s Services and Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services, both in Doylestown. The coats were part of Driving Away the Cold, organized by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. Since its start in 2008, this philanthropic program has distributed over 140,252 new coats to children who need them the most.

“The Thompson Organization is proud to have been a participant in this great program for the past four years,” says John Thompson, Vice President of The Thompson Organization. “We’re pleased to touch the lives of the local children directly and to fulfill a need that many take for granted.”

For more than 100 years, Tabor Children’s Services has been a multi-service child welfare agency, serving children, youth, young adults and families with locations in Doylestown and Philadelphia. "On behalf of all of us at the Tabor family, who work to ensure that children in Bucks County are safe and cared for, thank you to the Thompson Organization and all those who supported the Driving Away the Cold program. We are honored to work in partnership as we fulfill our mission and ensure the children we serve have better lives,” stated Jonathan Solomons, President and CEO of Tabor Children's Services.

The Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency holds the official regulatory responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of children. The agency provides a variety of services to local children and families which aim to reduce dependency, strengthen family life and promote family stability.

“Thanks to the warm hearts and generous effort on the part The Thompson Organization, countless children and families in Bucks County will be equipped with warm jackets when braving the cold this winter.  We deeply appreciate the opportunity to work in partnership with such business leaders to address the well-being of children in our community,” stated Lynne Rainey, Director of the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency.

In business since 1969, The Thompson Organization includes Thompson Toyota, Scion, Lexus, and BMW and Thompson Rent A Car, located at Routes 313 and 611 in Doylestown, as well as the Thompson Detail Center located on North Broad Street in Doylestown, the Thompson Collision Center located on Route 611 in Plumsteadville, and Thompson Volkswagen, Porsche of Bucks County and Audi Warrington, located on Route 611 in Warrington.
