Central Bucks Family YMCA will host its first Swim Across America event on December 27 (7:30-9:00PM), a cancer research and wellness fundraiser. The recently postponed event has been reimagined to be bigger and better than ever.
Reindeer Relay Games will offer fun holiday-themed events for teams and individuals. Swimmers of all ages will participate in relays entitled Santa T-shirt, Jingle Bell Roll, Snowman Swirl and Family Fun. Participants will compete for the Golden Flipper award.
In addition to the relay games, the event features refreshments, giveaways and recreational swimming in their Instructional Pool.

The event is sponsored in part by Doylestown Hospital, a comprehensive 238-bed medical center serving families throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties and Western New Jersey. As a Nationally Accredited Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer, the Cancer Institute of Doylestown Hospital offers patients, families and caregivers access to outstanding specialists and state-of-the-art screening, diagnostic, treatment and support services.
It is held in partnership with the Swim Across America Organization. Swim Across America, a national non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cancer through swimming, holds community oriented open-water and pool swims throughout the United States, each designed to fundraise for cancer research organizations.

Funds raised at this event support the Y’s THRIVE cancer wellness program and cancer research organizations buoyed by SAA.
All are welcome to participate by registering at www.swimacrossamerica.org/thrive. Participants may register as a team or individually. A $25 registration fee is required with a suggested fundraising goal of $100 for individuals and $2000 per team.
