Holicong Middle School Wins Big at State History Contest

The National History Day Pennsylvania State Contest took place at Millersville University on May 12 and May 13.

Holicong Middle School was selected as the best history school in Pennsylvania in the Junior Division during the National History Day Pennsylvania State Contest. The contest took place at Millersville University on May 12 and May 13.

The junior division includes Grades 6-8.

Advanced Social Studies teacher Mr. Gregory Maigur was given the Plaque on behalf of the History Department. Teachers Mr. Richard Knoedler and Mrs Kimberly Keyes attended and also contributed significantly to the success of our
school's team effort.

Twenty six Holicong students qualified at the regional competition to attend the PA state contest.  Seven Holicong students won first place Gold medals in 4 categories.  Other students from Central Bucks Schools, Tohickon MS, Tamanend MS, Central Bucks West HS, and Central Bucks South HS, also earned 1st or 2nd place medals and are qualified to compete in the National Contest at the University of Maryland June 15th through June 19th, 2014.

However, only Holicong Middle School PA students have earned the opportunity to compete for recognition as the best Junior Division (Grades 6-8) Middle school in the nation.
