NARBERTH AMBULANCE WELCOME BACK BLOCK PARTY

We are pleased to announce the return of the Volunteer Medical Service Corps (VMSC) of Lower Merion & Narberth to their ambulance headquarters. Narberth Ambulance is the non-profit, 911 medical service aiding the Lower Merion, Narberth, and Conshohocken areas.

In the early morning hours of March 28th 2014, the headquarters caught fire, resulting in the complete loss of one ambulance, and substantial fire, smoke, and water damage to the station’s bay and administrative areas. Crews from local stations (Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Ardmore, Narberth and Haverford) responded to the situation, while the two staff members on duty escaped without injury.

Following the unexpected fire, the Gladwyne Fire Company graciously hosted Narberth Ambulance’s operations for the past five weeks. Additionally, VMSC received support from local Fire, Police, and EMS departments, as well as encouragement from the general public.

To thank the local community and celebrate their return, VMSC will be hosting a Welcome Back Block Party on Sunday, June 8th from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. The event will be rain or shine at their Narberth Ambulance Headquarters at 101 Sibley Avenue in Ardmore. With free parking at the Suburban Square East Lot, the Block Party will be a great way to support local businesses.

Fun for the whole family is on the schedule, with crafts, food trucks, raffles and carnival rides. Kids will have the opportunity to jump on the moon bounce, join in lego-building with the paramedics and get their faces painted. VMSC will also have ambulances, fire trucks and police cars on site for children to sit and play in for a great photo opportunity.

In order to help with the substantial costs due to the damages, VMSC has been and will continue to welcome donations by mail at VMSC, 101 Sibley Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003. Donations can also be made by visiting www.vmsc313.org and clicking on the “Donate Now” or “Support Us” links and specifying “In Support of the March 28 Fire Recovery” in the comments section.
