Local Best-selling Author Releases 158th Children’s Book

With her dedication to “reluctant readers” and children who like a good tale, Furlong resident Debbie Dadey just released her 158th book, Mermaid Tales #7: Dream of the Blue Turtle from Simon and Schuster.

Dadey’s Publishers’ Weekly best-selling series The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids, has been called "one of Scholastic's top-three best-selling series of all time" (Forbes.com).

She was also named one of the “Top 100 Children's Authors" (Educational Paperback Association). Now she continues her success with her latest series about young mermaids in school.

“Kiki can see the future, but a vision about a leatherback turtle is way too scary,” Dadey explains. “Can Kiki save her friend from a turtle disaster?”

The book also touches on the danger of plastic bags ending up in the water and killing leatherbacks.
