After raising nearly $22,000 over the past four years, each year better than the previous, Central Bucks West Football Parents Club has every intention of continuing the trend -- with the help of the community.
The club hosts its fifth Drive 4 UR School fundraiser on Friday, September 6, from 10:30 to 1:30 and 3:00 to 7:00 -- the break is to allow for school dismissal along MacFarlane Lane next to the high school and War Memorial Field.
And the community will again have a really good reason to push beyond Ford Motor Company’s cap of 300 qualified test-drives funded at $20 each.
Fred Beans Family of Dealerships has again promised to donate $20 per test drive over 300. That means there is no limit to how much the community can help the football, band and cheerleading programs raise over Ford’s $6,000 maximum.

Last year, the Fred Beans donation added $1,840 to Ford’s $6,000 when the parents group, cheerleaders, band members and football team rallied 392 people to test drive Fords along MacFarlane Lane at the high school in Doylestown.
"We intend to go past 400 test drives," says Bob Johnson who, with his wife, Kathy Johnson, head up the club's fundraiser.

"We already have the promises from community leaders and school administration to take a drive around the block and complete the short survey," says Kathy.
All members of the community are invited to participate, with NO obligation to buy anything and NO commitment. The only limitations are these:
- Drivers must hold a current driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Drivers must be 18 years of age or older.
- Only one test drive per driver and one driver per residence qualifies for the Ford or Fred Beans donation.
Ford has created a simple program that reinforces the relationship between the business and education communities in towns across the country. High school groups partner with a local Ford dealership to provide vehicles and accompanying drivers, while Ford assists school groups with Drive 4 UR School marketing materials, samples and tips to ensure a successful fundraising event.
The no-pressure, no-sales-pitch, no-obligation event is held in conjunction with other school activity and gives people of the community an opportunity to support the school and its programs simply by taking a brief test drive in a new Ford and completing a form that seeks the driver’s response to the driving experience.
Come take a drive yourself, but also invite your neighbors, staff and coworkers, friends and family from near and far (just not from the same household!).
