CAC celebrates completed renovations of Jamison facility

On Thursday, September 26, the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) cut the ribbon on its newly renovated and expanded facility at 2370 York Road, Suite B5, in Jamison.

Participating were Rep. Kathy Watson (PA-144), chair of House Children & Youth Committee; Det. Roy Ferrari, Solebury PD; Leslie Slingsby, LSW, CAC director; Kathy Bennett, associate director of NOVA (behind Leslie); Det. Sgt. Dante Montella, Warwick PD; Terri Rivera, VP Mission and Community Health, St. Mary Medical Center; Lynne Rainey, director, Bucks County Children & Youth Social Services Agency; Rob Loughery, Bucks County commissioner; and Nate Spang, assistant DA, Bucks County District Attorney’s office.

The facility’s improvements include a family support room, conference room and office space for CAC staff and interns, as well as additional work space for other professionals who may be engaged onsite, such as law enforcement officers, child protection service workers and prosecutors.

“These necessary improvements allow children and families to have a private space to speak with professionals about their concerns and questions after a disclosure of sexual or physical abuse,” says Slingsby. “The expansion will meet the needs of the growing number of children visiting our facility after an allegation of abuse.

“The new office space also offers improved accessibility, comfort and safety for our staff and our clients.”
