Superintendent to be Appointed, Two Story Times, Free Jazz

A look at the day ahead in Doylestown.

Here's a look at what's happening around Doylestown on Tuesday, Oct. 8:

  • The Central Bucks School Board on Tuesday will consider appointing David Weitzel as superintendent for a three-year term beginning Oct. 9. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. 
  • Interested in learning about Buckingham Friends School? The school will have an open house Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. 
  • Larry McKenna, renowned jazz saxophone player, will join jazz pianist Tom Lawton for two free events Tuesday at Bucks County Community College's Newtown Campus. Master class from 4:30 to 6 p.m., concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Presser Music Room in the Music & Multimedia Center. Free parking and admission. Information: 215-968-8135 or www.bucks.edu/cultural.
  • There is are two story times for children Tuesday at the Doylestown Library. The first one, at 10 a.m., is for 2 year olds. The second, at 1:30 p.m., is for children 3 to 6 years old. Registration is preferred, click here for details.
