Where to Get Coffee, Power, Food
We're pulling together a roundup of open businesses where you can get coffee, food, or charge your cell phone - or just sit in the warmth, for a bit.
Joan Doyle grabbed lunch with friends at Coach's Steak and Hoagie House, on Tuesday and plugged her cell phone into the wall to charge.
Carol Counihan drove around in her car the day after Hurricane Sandy so her phone could recharge on her car charger.
Finding warm food, coffee and a place to recharge electronics has been a challenge in Central Bucks after Hurricane Sandy pummelled the area on Monday.
As many people are still without power, we offer this ongoing list of places that are open and welcome you to recharge, literally and figuratively, while you wait for the power to come back on.
Hickory Kitchen: "We are OPEN for YOU! Free WIFI & Lotsa plugs for you to re-charge all of your batteries. Stop by for a warm cup of coffee or hot tea...How about a cup of soup to warm you up? Chicken Noodle & Sweet Corn Chowder"
Nonno's, Zen Den, Wawa, Dunkin' Donuts and the downtown Starbucks all have been open and serving hordes of customers anxious for coffee and more. Customers have been reporting long waits - 40 minutes at Wawa on Tuesday morning, 25 minutes at Starbucks Tuesday night - but as one customer said, "It was totally worth it."
Jules Thin Crust reopened on Tuesday with no phone service but was still able to serve up hot pizza to hungry patrons.
UPDATE 11:20 a.m.
