Thomas Alexander Reich

Thomas Alexander Reich of Doylestown passed away Feb. 24, 2011.

He lives on through wife, Barbara, and his children, Carla, David and Jeffrey; David LoGiudice and daughter-in-law, Kara. He also had two grandchildren, Donovan and Amelia, sister, Rita Mandl; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

You may have had the pleasure of meeting Tom Reich around town at a local supermarket, a restaurant, Central Park while walking his dogs, a Democratic committee meeting for which he was vice chair, a telephone call for Organizing for America, or at your door getting out the vote. Whether you were a Democrat or Republican, you enjoyed the conversation. Anyone who met him felt his genuine warmth and concern for his fellow man.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, he arrived in New York with his mother, Erna, on the S.S. Berlin, at the age of 12. He has been a proud American ever since.

He graduated from New York Military Academy High School.

Mr. Reich was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era.

He attended Bernard Baruch College, where he received his Master's in Business, Marketing.

In his early years, he lived in Astoria, Queens and Smithtown, Long Island, working for Donahue Talon, marketing director for Revlon, Fruit of the Loom and Cycle Products.

In 1993, he and his family returned to Hungary for nine years to start an import/export company, which helped introduce American products to Hungary.

Mr. Reich was a Chair of the American Club in Budapest.

In 2002, he returned to New York, and worked at Courier Life Publishing, before moving to Doylestown.

Tom loved all animals, especially his wonderful pets, Hugs, Kisses and Duna.
