Third Maple Avenue Home Burglarized
Another home targeted on Maple Avenue in Doylestown recently.
A home on Doylestown Borough's Maple Avenue was burglarized recently, the third such incident in recent weeks.
In the latest incident, the burglarized home was in the 300 block of Maple Avenue. Police believe entry was likely gained through an unsecured first-floor window.
An iPad and $380 cash were stolen from the kitchen of the home, according to the police report. The iPad was valued at about $636.
The theft occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 and 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
The most recent break in similar to two other recent cases.
On Jan. 11, a resident of the 300 block of Maple Avenue reported that an unlocked rear door was entered and a MacBook Pro laptop computer was removed. The homeowner was asleep on a couch in the living room when that theft occurred sometime between midnight and 5 a.m., Police Chief Jim Donnelly said.
A home on the 500 block of Maple Avenue was entered and took MacBook Pro laptops were taken. That incident happened sometime between 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2.
There were no signs of forced entry, and the residents were home when the theft occurred, but didn't hear anything.
Donnelly told Patch police officers would be stepping up patrols in the area.
