You got your flu shot, and that was a smart move.
But there are other microbiological menaces out there this winter, and they can inflict just as much misery as the flu.
Perhaps chief among them is norovirus, which can afflict its victims with serious vomiting and diarrhea for several days.
Like influenza, and as its name suggests, norovirus is a virus. Unlike influenza, however, there's no vaccine to help stave it off. Keeping hydrated and riding it out are the only real options available.
This winter's strain of norovirus already has raged across Japan and Europe. It is believed to be the cause of at least 60 percent of the 'stomach bug' cases reported in the United States so far in 2013.

the article says "Keeping hydrated and riding it out are the only real options available." this is simply NOT TRUE. what you put into your body every single day, what you put on your body, and what you are exposed to every day will determine your body's ability to avoid this. One of the best things you can do is EAT FERMENTED VEGGIES. you can make them or get them at health food stores. DRINK KOMBUCHA and other fermented drinks/veggie juices. avoid sugar which deeply suppresses the immune system's ability to fight. manage stress and get sleep and it doesn't hurt to take a high quality probiotic. build up your immune system through good wholesome traditional food and AVOID chemicals that are in processed foods. avoid chemicals and toxins in your environment by choosing only natural body care and use only vinegar and baking soda to clean. you would be amazed at how great it works! and its cheap too.
