Spending a Sunny Sunday on the Parkway

Walkers, runners and bikers traversed much of the Route 202 Parkway on Sunday, getting a glimpse of the region's long-awaited road before it opens to vehicles.

 

It wasn't the lure of an alternative route that the new Route 202 Parkway will offer through Central Bucks that lured people out on a beautiful Sunday.

Instead, it was the lure of the bike and hike trail that runs alongside the roadway that stretches 8.4 miles from Doylestown to Montgomeryville.

Runners, walkers and cyclists headed to the Party on the Parkway Sunday to get a glimpse of the $200 million road project. The Route 202 Parkway is expected to open to vehicles in October, according to PennDOT.
