A Havertown man has been charged with assault and several related charges after police said he hit another man outside a Doylestown bar recently.
Alan Koch, 22, Earlington Road, Havertown, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 6 at about 12:32 a.m. after he allegedly punched a patron of Stephanie’s in the eye, according to police.
Doylestown Borough Police Chief Jim Donnelly said the victim was leaving the bar when he was assaulted and had had no prior contact with Koch.
"He just walked up the steps to go home, and the guy at the top of the steps punched him," Donnelly told Doylestown Patch.
The victim was taken to Doylestown Hospital for evaluation and treatment of a cut above his right eye.
In addition to the assault charge, Koch also was charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and resisting arrest.
