Major Fundraisers on the Schedule for Today
Check out the basketball action at CB East, have dinner with the veterans of the American Legion or grab dessert in support of A Woman's Place.
1. Weather. National Weather Service says: Snow likely before 1 pm, then a chance of rain showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39.
2. CB East is the place to be today, for the day-long Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser. Don't miss the basketball game between the teachers and the kids in the afternoon. Attendees also will have plenty of chances to donate to Team Morgan, in the memory of Buckingham teen Morgan Mysza who passed away recently from cancer.
3. The Doylestown American Legion is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. The money raised supports community events like the Easter Egg hunt and Legion baseball.
4. The annual Chocolate Lovers' Gala for A Woman's Place is tonight at the Bucks County Community College. Money raised supports the organization's fight against domestic violence in Bucks County.
5. On this day in 1990, South African leader Nelson Mandela tasted freedom for the first time in 27 years. The leader of the anti-apartheid movement was elected the country's president four years later.
