Fashion Show to Benefit Save Kids Castle is Sunday

Miracolo Hair Studio is hosting a Fashion Show Sunday to benefit the effort to reopen the beloved Kids Castle. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

The effort to save Kids Castle is nearing its goal of raising the $150,000 needed to reopen the iconic playground and volunteers hope an event this weekend will bring them closer to their target.

Miracolo Hair Studio is hosting a Fashion Show Sunday to benefit the effort to reopen the beloved Kids Castle, which is located within Doylestown Township's Central Park.

The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. and will feature summer collections by She Boutique and others.

“We’re always trying to do things for the community,” said Miracolo owner Michael Guagliardo  He said his young nieces and nephews in the area love Kids Castle, so he thought raising money to save the playground would be a good cause to get behind.

Emma Derstine, who works at Miracolo, said the fashion show will feature spring and summer looks for a range of ages—from teenagers to women and men.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. with food and cocktails. The fashion show will start around 3 p.m., Derstine explained.

The cost to attend is $20 per person in advance or $25 the day of the event. Click here to buy tickets.

Guagliardo said he hopes the fashion show raises at least $1,000 to benefit the Save Kids Castle initiative.

Rachael Ford, a volunteer with the Save Kids Castle effort, said the group needs $150,000 to reopen the castle. “We’re almost there,” she said. So far, more than $114,000 has been raised through various events and fundraisers.

But reaching the $150,000 goal will only reopen the castle, Ford noted. Phase two, which includes replacing additional equipment, requires another $400,000. “That won’t be done until next spring,” Ford said.

Ford said the group hopes to reopen Kids Castle at the end of the summer.

In addition to Sunday’s fashion show, Save Kids Castle is selling t-shirts, designed by Kutz Elementary School sixth grader Julia Buckley. The t-shirts come in both youth and adult sizes. They are $15 for youth and $20 for adult. Click here to order a t-shirt.
