A Glenside man is facing several criminal charges after police said he wrote himself nearly $6,800 worth of checks on his Doylestown employer's account.

Doylestown Borough police said Thursday that theft charges and more have been filed against Peter Cortner, 48, of Twickenham Road, Glenside.

Police claim Cortner allegedly issued himself five business checks from his employer’s account without their knowledge or authorization.

Cortner worked for ADHD Aware on E. Court Street.

Written between September 12 and October 25, the checks totaled $6,768.59, according to police reports.

Cortner has been charged with theft, forgery, and receiving stolen property, police said.
