Doylestown American Legion won its opening League game by scoring a 3 to 2 win over visiting Pottstown Steelers on Sunday, June 10.

Check's diving catch in the gap in left center and Glassmire's diving catch at shortstop helped keep the Steelers off the scoreboard. Jason Hydier threw a two hitter for Pottstown, striking out six over six innings.

Each team scored all of their runs in the first innings; Pottstown got two on Joshua Hartman's two-out single and the Tigers responded with three of their own on a base-loaded walk and an infield grounder misplayed by Pottstown.

Clay Sebesky raced home from second with what turned out to be the winning run. Both pitchers then shut the bats down the rest of the way.
