DelVal Football Hits the Road for Game Two

The Aggies will travel to Washington, Pa., to take on perennial power Washington & Jefferson College as part of the PAC-MAC Challenge.

Following an overtime victory on an improbable fourth-down, 30-yard touchdown pass, the Delaware Valley College football team will travel to Washington, Pa., on Saturday to take on perennial power Washington & Jefferson College as part of the PAC-MAC Challenge.

The PAC-MAC Challenge is a two-year series that features match-ups between teams from the Presidents Athletic Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Last season, hosted Washington & Jefferson in a battle of national top 20 teams and the Aggies dominated their way to a 27-0 blanking. The offense racked up 446 total yards and held the ball more than 30 minutes while their defense held the Presidents to five first downs (the first coming in the third quarter), minus-11 yards rushing and just 78 yards in the air.

Delaware Valley went on to finish 9-3 overall, captured their third consecutive conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Washington & Jefferson saw its run of six straight appearances in the NCAA playoffs come to an end, but the Presidents did finish 9-2 and captured the ECAC Southwest Bowl title.

The Aggies opened their 2011 campaign with a 10-9 overtime victory over defending Centennial Conference champion Muhlenberg College.

The game was 3-3 heading into the extra session, and the Mules scored a touchdown on their possession. However, Delaware Valley’s Ryan McCullough (Cherry Hill, NJ/Northeast Catholic) blocked the extra point.

The Aggies then found themselves with a fourth-and-15 from the 30-yard line when freshman quarterback Aaron Wilmer (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington) found an open Isaiah Hall (Long Branch, NJ/Long Branch) for a touchdown. Jake Sobchak (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) hit the extra-point for the win.
