Bux-Mont Hurricane Sandy Clean-up Team Details

All systems are go for a grass-roots, social media-organized day of volunteerism in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The Bux-Mont Hurricane Sandy Clean-up Team formed quickly this week on Facebook, spearheaded by Chalfont resident Paul Dziewisz.

After a few hasty planning meetings, and plenty of time spent fielding emails and phone calls, the group's weekend plans have come together.

Anyone who wants to help out is asked to meet at 7 a.m. at the Central Bucks West High School parking lot located at Rt. 202 and Lafayette Street in Doylestown. The group will be going out both Saturday and Sunday.

Please click on the attached PDF file for exact details on what to bring and how the days' projects will be tackled.

Key amongst the directives is that volunteers will not take on any project that involves electricity, nor will they get in the way of utility or municipal crews.

Dziewisz can be reached at 267-626-7478 or by email at pdziewisz@gmail.com if you want to volunteer or know someone who needs assistance.

Sarah, thanks for covering this. I've uploaded to photos of most of the volunteers from the weekend. In addition 3 restaurants in town donated soup, water & ice. Hickory Kitchen, Cafe Allessio & Pa Soup and Seafood. We put lots of photos on the facebook page from the weekend, really great community effort! Thanks to everyone who came out!
