Central Bucks Family YMCA is pleased to announce two new additions to their management team.
Andrew Scherer, Senior Program Director, leads the Aquatics and Special Needs Departments at the Y. Mr. Scherer hails from Hamden-North Haven Family YMCA, Connecticut, where he was Director of Aquatics and Youth/Family Programming. He brings a wealth of experience to Y programs and holds certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, YMCA Swim Instruction, USA Swimming and is YMCA Team Leader and YMCA Sanctioned Swim Coach certified. He also has extensive experience supporting case managers for individuals with autism, ADHD, PDD-NOS and Down syndrome as a Senior Behavioral Therapist with Tri-State Learning Center. Julie Townsend was recently appointed as the new Director of Youth Education at the Y. Ms. Townsend previously served as an Environmental Ratings Scale (ERS) Assessor evaluating early childhood education programs for Pennsylvania Key STARS preschools throughout the region. With the selection of Ms. Townsend, the Y hopes to continue the momentum of positive change created by the recent relocation of the preschool to Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church in New Britain.
